New Silk Road Institute (NSRI)  was set up in Feb. 2018, is an open scholarly platform. NSRI aims to facilitate communication and interaction among researchers, governments, communities, and business. The open discussion regarding the Belt and Road Initiative is welcomed. NSRI follows the principles of academic objectivity and political neutrality, welcoming the submission of evidence-based studies about the on-going changing phenomena from the geo-economic-political-business-perspective.

In May 2019, European Belt Road Initiative Group merged with NSRI.
